JENNIE M. MEGGERS SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER
The Park and Recreation Department operates a multipurpose senior center for the area’s older adults, which is located inside the Clintonville Community Center at 30. S. Main. Waupaca County operates a nutrition program at the center Monday through Friday. Persons age 60 and older, or married to someone 60 years of age or older are eligible to participate in this lunch program. Meal reservations must be made one day in advance. Home delivered meals are also available to those meeting the necessary requirements. Persons receiving meals are expected to donate what they can afford toward the cost of the meal. A wide variety of other programs and services are offered at the center. Additional activities may be organized by the patrons of the center. Among the activities at the center are: -holiday parties; birthday parties; picnics -exercise programs; exercise equipment -movies, bingo, travel shows, bus trips -blood pressure/blood sugar screening; general health screening -dartball league among county nutrition sites -information and referral services on many topics of interest/concern to the older adult -benefit advocate services to assist with insurance, Medicare and Social Security problems -energy aid assistance with applications for energy assistance for qualified individuals -card playing, board games, puzzles, craft activities -intergenerational activities of various kinds -county wide picnic and talent show -educational/informational speakers/programs on various topics of interest -information on state and national older adult support groups and lobbying efforts -various transportation services -income tax preparation assistance -foot clinic
