The Electric Utility is approximately 100 years old.  Presently the Utility owns 3 substations at the following locations:

  •   Industrial Substation in the industrial park

  •   Downtown Substation on East Garfield Street

  •   East Madison Substation on East Madison Street

The peak electric load in 2012 was 23.37 megawatts.

The Utility maintains twenty-nine mile of line within the City limits and twenty-four miles of line outside of the city.

The Utility maintains approximately 700 street lights.

In 1984, the City of Clintonville and the City of Shawano joint forces to create a joint wholesale power purchase group called Badger Power Marketing Authority (Badger Power).  The goal of Badger Power was to create an entity which would keep wholesale electric rates low for both cities.  Badger Power constructed a new substation in 1999 in the Clintonville North Industrial Park which greatly improved our power delivery service.  Badger Power now buys its power from Great Lakes Utilities which expands its purchasing power even more, whereby keeping rates low for its members.
