Pigeon
River
Five miles long, flowing
southwest through the center of
Clintonville. Fish species:
small mouth bass, northern pike,
pan fish, and forage species.
Access for fishing and boating
are available at several points
in the area.
Pigeon
Lake
A 218 acre impoundment created
by a dam on the Pigeon River,
located directly northwest of
Clintonville. Fish species:
northern pike, large mouth bass,
blue gill, black crappie, rock
bass, pumpkinseed, bullhead, and
white sucker. Boat access
available at several points.
Woodland
and Wetlands
Woodlands are located within the
city primarily along the banks
of the Pigeon River. Around the
city, woodlands are located
primarily north and south of the
Pigeon Lake. Identified as a
high value wildlife area in east
central Wisconsin.
Navarino Wildlife
Area
1,000 of the 16,000 acres of the
wildlife area extends into
northeastern
Waupaca County. Provides
excellent habitat for waterfowl
and forest game. Hunting,
hiking, and cross country ski
trails, nature center.
City Parks
Walter
A. Olen Park
35 acres, largest park in
Clintonville, located east of
the central business area. The
Pigeon River flows through the
center of the park. The park
includes: three shelters (one
enclosed), bathrooms, playground
equipment, picnic tables,
baseball diamond with night
lighting, two tennis courts with
night lighting, and ice rink
with warming house (during
winter).
Bucholtz
Park
24 acres located at the east end
of First Street. Three softball
diamonds with bleachers and
night lighting. Picnic area
includes tables, grills,
barbecue pit, three open-sides
shelters, bathrooms, swimming
and wading pools, playground
equipment, tennis courts, and
sand volleyball courts.
Pickeral
Point
9 acres located on the Pigeon
Lake off Eighth Street. Barrier
free, fully accessible pier and
boat launch facility. Area
includes: picnic tables, nature
trail, 20 station fitness trail,
1.1 mile exercise trail,
playground and basketball
hoop.
Neighborhood Parks
There are currently 8 parks
located in various neighborhoods

Privately owned 18 hole course.
Open to the public seven days a
week. Restricted hours on
Wednesday and Thursday.

Historical Sights
Pioneer
Park
Operated by the Clintonville
Historical Society. Open Sundays
and holidays during the summer,
1-4 p.m. The park features:

History House, a two
story frame built in 1861
housed the first town hall
and fire department.

Doty-Besserdich House,
made of cord or stonewood
walls with pieces piled on
top of each other, held
together by mortar.

Ralph Denn, Stavemaker
Cabin, Built in 1869 by
Ralph Denn to serve as his
stave-making factory and
home.

Stone Collection, 8
stones with a remarkable
past. They have been
gathered from the roads and
quarries around Jerusalem as
well as Yellowstone National
Park, the Dakota Badlands,
and the Arizona Petrified
Forest. In the center of the
collection stands a section
of the Great Wall of China.
One of the most unique
collections of stones in the
United States.
Four-Wheel Drive Museum
Adjacent to W.A. Olen Park. Site
of the famous four-wheel drive
cars and trucks first invented
in Clintonville. Open weekends
during the summer. Group tours
may by arranged by calling FWD
