FEMA Grant - November 2007 Great News for the City of Clintonville.... The Fire Department has received a FEMA Grant in the amount of $192,042 to purchase new equipment. The City must match an additional 5%. So for the cost of $10,108 we will receive $202,150 in new equipment. We will be buying new turn out gear (bunker pants and structural fire fighting coats) AND new SCBA air packs. We need 28 packs plus 28 spare bottles to replace all the ones we currently have on our trucks. Lastly, we are getting two RIC packs. These are essentially 2 extra air tanks in an easy to carry bag that can be used to get oxygen to a down fireman. We do not currently have these so this is big increase in safety. At about $5000 a piece for the SCBA packs, this is a HUGE boost to our budget! A big thanks to Mark Doornink and Paul Writt and the other Firefighters who assisted who have applied for this grant for the past few years. Great job and Congrats!!!
